Dr. Jie Tian started the research and development of 3DMed ( Three-dimensional Medical Image processing and analyzing system ) in 1996. The start-up of MITK (Medical Image Toolkit) and an upgrated version of 3DMed based on MITK were carried out by MITK team guided by Dr. Jie Tian in 2003. With many years’ efforts, MITK and 3DMed have become a worth processing and analyzing platform in medical imaging community. The persistent development of MITK and 3DMed attributes to lots of contributors’ efforts. Thanks for those who have contributed to MITK and 3DMed. Contributors of the first generation ( 2003 - 2004 ) Team leader: MingChang Zhao Core Members: Jian Xue, Xun Zhu, Hua Zhao etc Designed and realized MITK, released MITK1.0 alpha, 3DMed2.0 alpha, MITK1.0 beta, 3DMed2.0 beta, they are the initiators of the MITK and the new version of 3DMed. Contributors of the second generation ( 2004 - 2007 ) Team leader: Jian Xue Core Members: Yakang Dai, Jian Zheng, Jian Chen , Kexin Deng, Guorui Yan, Zichun Tang etc. Released MITK1.0, MITK1.1, MITK1.2, MITK1.3, MITK SSE acceleration, MITK2.0 beta and 3DMed2.0, they are the initiators of the MITK with Out-of-Core support. Contributors of the third generation ( 2007 - ) Team leader: Yakang Dai Core Members: Jian Xue, Jian Zheng, Jian Chen, Kexin Deng, Guorui Yan, Zichun Tang, Shouping Zhu, Xing Zhang, Dehui Xiang, Xiaoqian Dai, Di Dong etc. Released MITK 1.4, 3DMed2.1.0, MITK Linux 1.3 beta and MITK Linux 1.4 alpha, they are the initiators of the MITK Linux. Contributors who participated in the prophase version of 3DMed are Zhigang Hu, Yonghui Wang, Ningning Liu, Ying ZhuGu, Xiping Luo, Jing Wang, Yong Cao, Feng Qiu, Jingchun Liu, Hua Yang, Enzhong Li, Yao Lin, Huiguang He, Fuping Zhu, Xingfei Zhu, Guangming Li, Ke Lv, Zhanglin Cheng, Xingfeng Li, Wu Li, Hui Li, Xiaoxiang Wang, Lei Yang, Jie Luo, Jiangang Liu, Wei Qin, Zonglei Zhen, Yujie Lv and Jin Hu etc. The design and realization of MITK and 3DMed relied on their accumulated work.
